We recently learned of the sad passing of comedian Sean Lock at the age of 58. The much-loved comic has been rightly praised by fellow comedians and fans alike.
And now following requests from fans, the BBC has now announced that Sean’s sitcom 15 Storeys High will now be available to watch on the BBCiPlayer.
The series was filmed locally at the Brandon Estate in Kennington.
15th Storeys High
The sitcom, which had its origins as a radio series in the late ’90s, ran for two seasons from 2002-2004. Set in a South London estate, it starred Sean as sarcastic pessimist Vince and Benedict Wong (Doctor Strange) as his optimistic flatmate Errol. Other big names, including Tracy-Ann Oberman, Bill Bailey and Peter Serafinowicz, also appeared as Vince’s long-suffering neighbours and members of the community.

The TV Series
15 Storeys High first aired on BBC Choice, before finding its way to BBC Two and then BBC Three. Despite its unusual scheduling issues, it received critical acclaim, with The Guardian describing it as “very much one of a kind: an artistically shot kitchen-sink sitcom that managed to be gutwrenchingly funny and brilliantly imaginative.”
The estate is no stranger to the camera, It has also been featured in the TV shows Spooks, Silent Witness and The Bill. The sci-fi series Doctor Who used the estate as the fictional Powell Estate, home of companion Rose Tyler for several series.

As an absolute lover of comedy, from the goons to sellers I found his humour so comedic. He will be missed so much.
